How can I test if OMGF (Pro) is working properly?
As of v6, OMGF will notify you via the admin bar and its dashboard if its optimizations are applied properly.
OMGF parses your page for Google Fonts at pageload and attempts to host them locally. After the page is done loading, it checks if it has captured all of them. If it fails, a dot will flash in the top admin bar to attract your attention:
- If a known compatibility issue with your plugin or theme might be the cause, or an iframe known to load Google Fonts is detected, the dot will flash yellow. Visit the dashboard for more information.
- If no known compatibility issues were detected, OMGF Pro is installed and auto-configuration is required, the dot will flash orange.
- If no known compatibility issues were detected, but OMGF still detects requests to the Google Fonts API, the dot will flash red.
- And if all is well, of course, the dot will not flash. It will just appear green.
That’s all there is to it, really! If you want a second opinion, to be absolutely sure, I suggest using Sicher3’s Google Fonts Checker. It’s German, but the interface is clear enough.
