Form Integration

Form Integration shows matching docs while your visitors type the subject of your contact form. So they find their answer right away, and you get fewer support requests.

How to enable Form Integration

  1. Go to Settings › WP Help Scout Docs.
  2. Check Enable Form Integration.
  3. Optionally, change the Results Header Text shown above the results (default: “You might find an answer to your question here:”).
  4. Click Save Changes.

Add the CSS class to your form

Add the CSS class wp-help-scout-docs-search  to the subject field of your contact form. Here’s where to find that option in popular form plugins:

  • WPForms: the field’s Advanced tab › CSS Classes.
  • Contact Form 7: add class:wp-help-scout-docs-search  to the field’s tag, e.g. [text* your-subject class:wp-help-scout-docs-search] .
  • Fluent Forms: the field’s Advanced Options › Element Class.
  • Ninja Forms: the field’s Display settings › Element.
  • Formidable Forms: the field’s CSS Layout Classes.
  • Gravity Forms: the field’s Appearance tab › Custom CSS Class.

How does it work?

As soon as a visitor has typed 3 characters, up to 5 matching docs appear right below the field. It understands whole questions too, like “How do I renew my license?”. The docs open in a new tab, so your visitors don’t lose what they’ve already filled in.

Styling

The results are styled minimally, so they blend in with your theme. Want to style them yourself? Use the .wp-help-scout-docs-form-results  class.
