Brevo for Easy Digital Downloads adds customers who opt in at checkout to a contact list in your Brevo account. Setting it up takes just a few minutes.

Prerequisites

  • Easy Digital Downloads (Lite or Pro) is installed and activated.
  • You have a Brevo account, with at least one contact list.

1. Install the plugin

  1. Download the plugin from your account area.
  2. Go to Plugins › Add New Plugin, click Upload Plugin, select the ZIP file and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate.

2. Activate your license

Go to Downloads › Settings › Licenses, enter your license key in the Brevo for Easy Digital Downloads field and activate it. You need an active license to receive updates. Can’t find your license key? It’s listed under License Keys in your account.

3. Connect your Brevo account

  1. Log in to Brevo, go to the API keys page, create a new API key and copy it.
  2. In WordPress, go to Downloads › Settings › Marketing › Brevo.
  3. Check Enable Brevo, paste your key in the API Key field and click Save Changes.

After saving, the remaining settings appear. Is the Default List dropdown empty? Then check if you copied the complete API key. Have you enabled authorised IPs in Brevo? Then add your server’s IP address there.

4. Choose a list

  1. Select the list your customers should be added to under Default List.
  2. Optionally, change the Checkout Text: the text shown next to the opt-in checkbox at checkout.
  3. Click Save Changes.

5. Test it

Place a test order and check the opt-in checkbox at checkout. The email address, first name and last name you entered should now be listed in your Brevo list.
