Why does OMGF load so many fonts and weights?

OMGF hosts exactly the fonts your theme and plugins ask for. Some themes request a font in every weight and style, even when your site only uses a few of them. Every extra font variation adds weight to your pages.

Using OMGF Pro? Let Smart Optimize clean it up

Smart Optimize (Only available in OMGF Pro — default: off) automatically removes the weights, styles and subsets each page doesn’t use. So every page only loads the fonts it really needs, without any configuration.

  1. Go to Settings › OMGF Pro › Local Fonts.
  2. Check Smart Optimize (Pro).
  3. Click Save & Optimize.

Using the free OMGF?

Then you can trim the list by hand: check Don’t Load for the font variations your site doesn’t use (see Local Fonts – Optimize Local Fonts), and deselect the subsets you don’t need under Used Subset(s) (see Advanced Settings). Of course, upgrading to OMGF Pro is much easier.
